Lecturer Haixia Wang, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, China

Bio

Haixia Wang is a Senior Language Lecturer at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in China, where she specializes in Teaching Chinese as an International Language. With over a decade of experience fostering interactive and innovative learning environments, her recent work is dedicated to technology-mediated task-based language teaching and exploring the integration of AI in the classroom. Her research interests include student attitudes towards technology, language acquisition pedagogy, and cultural linguistics. She has taught Chinese in the U.S.A., Finland, and China, and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the “Arkansas Traveler” honor from the U.S. Arkansas State Board of Education, the “Best International Teacher of the year 2016” from the University of Helsinki, and the School of Languages Teaching Innovation Award at XJTLU in 2023. Her recent publications include a peer-reviewed book review in the International Journal of Chinese Linguistics (2026), as well as conference proceedings on AI-integrated tasks in TCSOL classrooms and the development of market-aligned Business Chinese curricula, all indexed by Ei and SCOPUS.
