CityU Macau is home to nearly 13,000 students, offering nearly 50 Chinese-
and English-medium programs with the support of the eleven faculties:
Faculty of Business, Faculty of Data Science, Faculty of Finance, Faculty of
Health and Wellness, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of
Innovation and Design, Faculty of International Tourism and Management,
School of Education, School of Law, Institute for Research on
Portuguese-Speaking Countries, and Institute of Urban and Sustainable
Development. The University is one of the five comprehensive universities in
Macao, with 12 bachelor’s degree programs, 22 master’s degree programs, and
15 doctoral and PhD programs.To facilitate students' holistic development,
its education philosophy incorporates international learning, experimental
learning, cross-cultural learning, peer learning, and value-added learning.
CityU Macau is ranked in the 601-800 range in the Times Higher Education
(THE) World University Rankings 2026 and 433rd in the QS Asia University
Rankings 2026. The University was applauded for its education excellence.
According to the latest statistics from Essential Science Indicators (short
for "ESI") released by Clarivate Analytics, the City University of Macau has
been ranked among the global top 1% in the Social Sciences, General, marking
new progress in the University’s discipline development.
